Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti (BMVSS)
is continuously striving to upgrade its orthotic and prosthetic aids. The BMVSS vision of
helping handicapped people become self-reliant is fused with research and development to improve the prosthetic and orthotic support it provides.
BMVSS collaborates with premier science and technology institutions in India and worldwide to improve the quality and to reduce the cost of its
prosthetics. The in-house research and development division of BMVSS is headed by Prof MK Mathur and supported by Dr Pooja Mukul – both well-known
experts in the field of rehabilitation.
BMVSS has a high-powered technical committee to guide research. The committee members include experts from the Indian Institutes
of Technology of Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi and Jodhpur; the Ahmedabad-based National Institute of Design; the Thiruvananthapuram-based Indian
Space Research Organisation; and the Jaipur-based Malaviya National Institute of Technology.
