Economic Assistance – BMVSS believes in a comprehensive and holistic rehabilitation program. While the persons needing limbs / calipers and other aids and appliances are being provided these, this does not take care of their entire problems. Along with the physical rehabilitation, on a selective basis, BMVSS makes an efforts to provide them with equipment or materials for their self employment like the setting up tea stalls, way side small food plaza, sewing machines, setting up of small grocery, shops, small telephone booths, weighing scales etc. These are low - cost, quick – maturing, self employment scheme providing some income to such patients. |

"As an Orthopedist,
I was quite impressed with their fabrication of lower extremity
prosthesis, particularly the Jaipur Foot which serves the Indian
population quite well, as many people go bare foot and have
an actual foot that is made of rubberized material
and is quite functional. This below the knee prosthesis
costs less than $ 30, as compared to one which I am sure
would cost $ 2,500 in United States." |
